Crochet Blanket for the baby

My friend taught me a week ago how to crochet, so off I trundle to buy some wool! I found Sidar Calico and really liked the texture and colours and so I begin! The balls are 50g each and after roughly 8 balls, here is the outcome. Im loving crochet and will definitely be doing more of it. T is in america with his daddy so that is how Ive managed to do this in a week!!! I used the joining as you go method and it really made it look so pretty! I then did a couple of rounds of crochet for a border finishing with picot edging in the yellow.

My first 3 squares.

35 squares all together laid out roughly how I wanted them.

Finished blanket, complete with edging.

SO happy with the outcome…. I am now a crochet convert!!!

  1. Bethany, wow, this is super pretty! I saw your question on my quilt-along post, and yes 8.5 yds is WAY more than enough, no worries! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to let me know!
