Once a month in a village near me, there runs a crafty, ‘powered by’ Needles group. It’s fabulous, I can go knowing I can relax, chat and have some cake! I had not been in a while, but made an effort to go along this month as I was in need of some peace and craft time! Upon arrival, I got out my ripple blanket and the ladies were surprised I had only been working on it since Tuesday!

The ladies are so welcoming, I am the youngest that attends, I do not feel like the odd one out and the conversation flows. One of the ladies even makes you a name badge so their is no awkwardness. I love listening to what the ladies have to say, draw upon their life experiences, take inspiration from their work, all over crochet, tea and cake! It does reaffirm for me how teaching crochet is so important to keeping the skill alive.
Needles sewing group runs once a month on the last Saturday of the month, at Waltham Chase Village Hall. It’s a mere £3 to go and runs from 1.30pm-4pm. I can’t stress how welcoming the group is, new people are always welcome to come along. More information can be found here
If you are local to Waltham Chase and want to come along to my workshop held at Chase Cafe please book here
